Directions

Put the correct measure (as stated below) into an empty glass. Fill glass with a least 250ml of liquid. Stir briskly and drink promptly. If mixture thickens, add more liquid and stir. Taking this product without adequate fluid may cause it to swell and block your throat or oesophagus and may cause choking. Do not take if you have difficulty in swallowing.
Dosage (in 250ml of liquid) per day:
To help restore and maintain regularity: Adults and children over 12 years: 2 level 5ml medicinal measuring spoons, 1-3 times a day. Children 6 to 11 years: Half the adult dose, 1-3 times daily on medical advice. Under 6 years: Consult a doctor.
To help lower cholesterol levels:
Adults and children over 12 years: 2 level 5ml medicinal measuring spoons, 3 times a day. Children 6-11 years: Consult a doctor. Under 6 years: Consult a doctor.

Ingredients

Each 7g dose contains 3.4g psyllium husk powder (2.4g of soluble fibre).
Also contains sucrose. Each 7g provides less than 5mg Sodium.
Metamucil is gluten-free and contains no chemical stimulants.

Warnings

Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, seek professional help or contact a Poison Control Centre immediately. Take two hours before or after ingesting any medication to minimize any effect on drug adsorption.
As your body adjusts to increased fibre intake, you may experience changes in bowel habits or minor bloating.
Consult a doctor before using this product if you: have a sudden change in bowel habits persisting for two weeks or have abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, or rectal bleeding or are considering it as part of a cholesterol-lowering program.
If you experience chest pain, vomiting or difficulty on swallowing or breathing after taking this product, seek immediate medical attention.
May cause allergic reaction in people sensitive to inhaled or ingested psyllium.
If constipation persists beyond 7 days, consult a doctor.
