Boyle Hobby Wood is made from plantation-grown paulownia wood. * Lightweight wood * Strong and durable * Naturally resistant to rotting, decay, termites and fire * Can be easily stained or painted * Offers low shrinkage and expansion Paulownia wood can be cut using a craft knife. It is a lightweight timber that has one of the highest strength-to-weight ratios of any lightweight wood. It is perfect to use for model building where greater strength is required. Paulownia wood is suitable to use for: * Housing components that do not require high timber strength. * Aircraft and yacht fittings that require light wood. * Veneers for plywood. * Barrels, especially those used for acids. * Beehives for which lightweight and good insulating properties are needed. * Aqueducts in rural areas. * Handicrafts because the wood is easy to carve and turn. * Wooden storage boxes. * Wood shavings for packaging and insulation.
